Yes, “numbly tomorrows,” adjective, verb.

Fred and I contributed every other line, so it started with “midnight,” and then Fred wrote the first line, I wrote the next line, and so on.

I like this poem. I like the part where you wrote “more present than now.”

What does “numbly tomorrows” mean? Is ‘tomorrows’ a verb? Is numbly an adjective?

Well I mean, if if it was simple enough to be laid out all plainly, I wouldn’t have written a poem.

It isn’t really about deception, it’s more about the reality that we are, in some sense, not designed to die, but die we do, every last one of us. Is that a sufficient entrance into the poem?

I don’t think I understand this one… Something about how we can deceive ourselves into thinking the world is nice and pleasant, but in fact the nature of it is toward destruction and wrath?

I like “takes a weight of insistence takes organs and blood”. I like the way that this poem juxtaposes emptiness with fullness and doubt with trust. It speaks to one of those hard truths of the Christian walk.
